Russell County wins KY Invitational; Adair finishes 9th

Lauren Goodin low with 85; Adair improves last year's KIT performance by 37 strokes, with over half of that coming from Ashley Goodin's 20 stroke gain!

Some of the top teams in the state were competing this weekend in the Kentucky Invitational Tournament at Lakewood Country Club in Russell County.



Russell County won the tournament with a 324, West Jessamine 327, Glasgow 336.

The top individual was Lydia Gumm of North Hardin with a 70. Lydia has won this tournament three years in a row.

Adair finished tied for 9th place, shooting a 383, once again improving their score over last year at the KIT by 37 strokes.

Lauren Goodin shot the the low score for Adair with a 85, but Ashley Goodin (92) gained most of the strokes for Adair improving her own score by 20 strokes over last year.

Other Adair scores are as follows:
  • Natalie Sneed 99

  • Emilee Royse 107

  • Natalie Curry 110
The girls' golf team has a busy week ahead with three matches: Monday (Taylor Co.), Tuesday (Clinton Co.) and Thursday (Barren Co.). The Barren Co. match is at Pinewood C.C. at 3:30pmCT.
