Butterfly charming: Patience required

2008-07-20 - Crocus Creek below the Great Wall, Adair Co. District 3, Inroad, KY - Photo By Pen.
IT TOOK NEARLY 20 MINUTES TO ACCOMPLISH, but with great six year old (almost 7) patience, Graham Waggener was able to coax a butterfly perched on the Crocus Creek rock creekbed onto his finger and then slowly rise to standing with the butterfly still on his hand. He said the secret is to be slow and gentle. Graham and his brother Evan visited the Great Wall on Sunday morning, July 20, 2007, to see the Adair County Road Department's equivalent to the Panama Canal before winding down the days before Southside Elementary in Shelbyville has to be ready for them. They are ready for Southside Elementary. Traffic at the South Adair tourist attraction was steady, during the visit, though not so great as at Holmes Bend on Saturday. A July 20, 2008, Today's Picture Album photo.
