Month of July is busy one at ACPL

Kids Day at AC Fair is July 9, 2008

The Adair County Public Library would like to remind everyone about the Summer Reading Programs still going on for the month of July. On July 9, 2008, the library will be at the Adair County Fair for Kids Day. Stop by and participate in crafts and a fun scavenger hunt.



Barn Lot Theatre will present "I Hate Bugs"

Barn Lot Theatre will be presenting the play, "I Hate Bugs" at Col. Wm. Casey on July 16, 2008, at 10:00amCT. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy this fun play. Admission is free.

Program ending picnic is July 23, 2008

On July 23, 2008, the library will be having their ending program with a huge picnic, snow cones and blow up slides and jumpers. The picnic begins at 12:00 noon CT at the Adair Sportsman Club located just outside of town. For specific directions please call the library at (270) 384-2472. There will be lots of food and fun! Anyone that came to any Summer Reading Program is invited to attend. Don't forget your bug spray and sunscreen.

You may be eligible for Cincinnati Reds tickets

The library has four (4) free tickets to the July 20, 2008, Cincinnati Reds game. If you participated in any Summer Reading Program and can go to this game, please stop by or call the library to register for these tickets. The library will draw the winner on July 16, 2008, at the "I Hate Bugs" play. You do not have to be present to win but please make sure that you can attend the game if you are the lucky winner.

If you participated in the letterboxing event, please stop by the library and let one of the staff check your log book. The library will be drawing for two family fun baskets, (one with a gas card in it!) to be given away at the picnic. For more information on letterboxing, please call thelibrary at (270) 384-2472.

Photography contest deadline is July 21, 2008

The library is also sponsoring a photography contest this summer with digital cameras as the prizes. All entries must be at the library at July 21, 2008. Winners will be announced at the picnic. The theme for the contest is bugs or what bugs us. Be creative!

Regular story hours will resume August 20, 2008

Ms. Aleina has announced that regular story hours will resume on August 20, 2008, with the morning time of 10:00am CT and afternoon at 1:00pmCT. Please make plans to come back and see us if you have been away this summer.

Your Adair Co. Public Library has something for everyone from Summer reading Programs to book signings. All events are free and open to all ages. If you would like more information on these events or upcoming events, please call the library at 270-384-2472 or stop by 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, during regular hours. Your library is open Monday 8:00-6:00, Tuesday through Friday 8:00-4:30pmCT and Saturday 8:00-12:00 noon CT. Visit us online at Adair County Public Library. Walk in, drive in, and bike in to the library. There are bike racks conveniently located at the library next to Mitzi's store door.
