Joe Moore scans Columbia skyline, spots unusual chimneys

2008-05-12 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
LOOKING UP to find architectural jewels on Downtown Columbia rooflines, Joe Moore discovered the intricate brick masonry on the chimney, to the right of the end of his cap bill in the photo, on the Firestone Building, now owned by Ben Arnold. Many of the old buildings in Downtown Columbia have chimneys which are treasures in their own right. Special ones to note are on the Old Courthouse. Though possibly no one knows more about the downtown than Mr. Moore, he said it was the first time he'd noticed the chimney.
