CM Food Critique: para ello se necesita la sal

2008-05-06 - Photo By Pen.
"Not so long ago, foods ordered in Mexican restaurants in the midwest still tasted wonderfully of cumin and more exotic spices, and were often garnished with cilantro and lime. Salt was for margaritas. We ate in an El Nopal this weekend, in a strip center that didn't exist two years ago, and not only were there salt shakers on every table, they were sorely needed. Lo que ser," -PEN.

Blimp over Westlake: Need a better picture

2008-05-06 - Westlake Regional Hospital - Photo By Ed Waggener.
AFTER RECEIVING A CALLS of a sighting of a blimp headed for Columbia from Campbellsville from V.T. Yarberry and Tony Harvey, our first sighting was on Pelham Road The airship seemed to be going around 40mph. When we got a clear shot it was barely visible over Westlake Regional Hospital. If anyone else can share a better shot of the craft over Adair County, we'd appreciate it. -ED WAGGENER

Better blimp photo: Over White Oak, headed for Duluth, GA?

2008-05-06 - White Oak community, Adair County, KY - Photo By Sandra VanArsdale.
SANDRA VAN ARSDALE an old veteran at blimp spotting--she and her parents saw this same one over the Watterson Expressway in St. Matthews yesteday (Sunday) morning--got this shot of the blimp making its way over the White Oak Community in Adair County. You can see the writing on on the blimp, spelling out MetLife. A nigh as anyone can tell so far, the blimp was on its way from the Derby in Louisville to Duluth, GA and is the Snoopy 2. However, ColumbiaMagazine.com welcomes more reliable information on the subject.

Even shy 9-1-1 Dispatcher Jean Corbin excited about building

2008-05-06 - Adiar County Enhanced 911 Building - Photo By Ed Waggener.
EVEN SHY ADAIR COUNTY 9-1-1 DISPATCHER JEAN CORBIN can't suppress her excitement for the new work environment, as she was taking part in the move-in which started this morning, Tuesday, May 6, 2008. County Judge Executive Ann Melton accepted the keys from Mi-Di President Mike Newton today. Jean Corbin said her enthusiasm could be understood if one could imagine the difference in the most most pleasant office imaginable after being used 12 hour shifts in the windowless dungeon-like center in the Adair County Jail.
