LWC Chautuaqua performance portrays Dr. Ephraim McDowell On April 22, 2008 at 7:00pmCT, Lindsey Wilson College Slider Hall, there will be a program of special interest to Adair and Green Countians. Kentucky Humanities Council provides actors who portray real persons in Kentucky History. On April 22, 7:00 CT Dr. Ephraim McDowell will explain how on Christmas Day in 1809 he removed a 22-pound ovarian tumor from Jane Todd Crawford from Green County. She received no antibiotics or anesthesia and he made medical history. At least a hospital is named for her!
