Spring blossoms: Flowering Crabapple on KY 206

2008-03-31 - Just north of Shepherd School, KY 206 - Photo By Betty Sue Jasper.
CRAPAPPLE BLOSSOMS IN ALL THEIR PINK BEAUTY were stunningly captured by Betty Sue Jasper this weekend at her home near Shepherd School on KY 206. The Ridge and all of Adair County is in brilliant spring glory now. Daffodils and forsythia offers splashes of yellow, red buds are just starting to bloom, plum thickets are pre-dogwood whites, and at this stage, Bradford pears faint white offer ghostly lights against the spring sky.To see more Betty Sue Jasper and other ColumbiaMagazine.com group at Flickr photos, Click Here. Honey, I shrunk the Courier

2008-03-31 - Sixth & Main Coffee, Shelbyville, KY - Photo By Pen.
Pen noticed a significanant change in the Louisville paper this week, and writes, "One day earlier this week, all the papers kept falling out of the rack. Everyone who walked by tried to straighten them, before realizing that they were no longer wide enough to hit both sides of the wire rack. On Sunday, the difference seems obvious, as they've printed some sections at the old width, like the front section on top above, and some at the old width, like the business section underneath it in the photo." The photo shows just part of the vehicles waiting to pass through the caution light. In all 22 units were in the queue, which reached back to the Russell Creek Bridge on Green Hills.
