A thought on Easter from an Iraq War wife "Please enjoy your family gatherings this Sunday, give thanks, and remember why you are able to gather in worship, share family fellowship, and make memories for years to come." -BETTY FAUSNAUGH By Betty Fausnaugh Tomorrow marks not only Easter Sunday for our family, but also my 23rd wedding anniversary. This one will be a bit different than in years past, as my husband is on his way to Iraq for a year. He's already been gone for over a month training for this deployment. Seems like we miss a lot of holidays together, but he feels that serving his country is an important job. No matter who is running the country, someone has to protect our families from individuals and countries which would harm us. Please take the time to reflect and pray for our soldiers and their families this Easter Sunday. Our family has made alot of sacrifices over the last 17 years. After 9-11, my husband was gone on and off for 3 years. September 11th also happens to be our oldest son's birthday. A day that was a joyous occasion for us in 1986, is now a day that people will remember for the many atrocities which were commited against America in 2001. Our youngest son is 12 now, for more than half his life my husband has been deployed somewhere. I'm not complaining. I love my husband deeply and believe in what he is doing. So please enjoy your family gatherings this Sunday, give thanks, and remember why you are able to gather in worship, share family fellowship, and make memories for years to come.
