Obituary: William Wayne Estes, 78

He was a member of a respected South Adair County Family. Mr. Estes career in trucking extended over 36 years. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, a Mason, and a Teamster. Services will be held in Louisville and Adair County, with burial in Roach Cemetery here

William Wayne Estes, 78, Louisville, KY, formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, at the Masonic Nursing Home in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at 10:00amET, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30pmCT, Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Roach Cemetery on Toria Road, Columbia, KY, with Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, in charge of local arrangements.



He was the son of the late William Wheat and Myrtle Thompson Estes of Adair County.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Marie England Estes of Louisville, KY, and the following:
  • Three sons: Steve Estes, Jim Estes, and Daryl Estes

  • One daughter: Michelle Smith

  • One brother: Everett Rudolph Estes, Louisville, KY

  • Two sisters; Arcola Franklin and Loretta Budzisz, Columbia, KY

  • Six grandchildren, several other relaties and a host of friends.
He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, the Plumb Mason Lodge #862, and Teamsters Local #89. He was a truck driver for 36 years, last working for Holland Trucking.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 3, 2008, from 3pm-8pmET, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY.
