Randall Banks gets walks ready for Bank of Columbia customers

2008-02-13 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo By Alexis Spires.
IF YOU EVER WONDER WHAT BANK VICE PRESIDENTS DO Randall Banks of the Bank of Columbia demonstrates a winter duty as he clears the sidewalk of snow to make it safe for customers to come in, conduct banking business, and enjoy a cup of coffee. It's just an old hometown banking tradition, much like the one nearby Celina had when the Bank of Celina, across the state line in Clay County, TN, was the early morning gathering place, much as Photo Video used to be here. The bank president would show up first and make the fire in the wood stove. It's that same kind of spirit, Alexis says, at work today on the Public Square in Downtown Columbia. ALEXIS SPIRES captured this picture of the famous Adair County Courthouse Clocktower withstanding the the onslaught of gigantic snowflakes on Wednesday morning, February 13, 2008. The unmatched beauty of the clocktower has caused many a visitor to Columbia to call the structure "the most beautiful public building I've ever seen." This photo is certainly impressive testimony to that fact.
