Obituary: James Eddie Callahan, 71, Knifley

He was of the Baptist faith, a member of a respected Knifley family, and was a woodcraftsman

James Eddie Callahan, 71, 69 Callahan Loop, Knifley, KY, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at 2:45pmCT, at his home after an illness.

The funeral service will be Sunday, February 3, 2008, at 1:00pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, with Bro. Elvis Tucker and Bro. Harlan Parker officiating.



He was a son of the late Henry Claude and Eva Wise Callahan, a woodcraftsman, and of the Baptist faith.Survivors include his wife, Stella Perkins Callahan, Knifley, KY, and the following:
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Tammy and Keith Burton, Knifley, KY; Tracy and Joey Jones, Elkhorn, KY

  • Two brothers and spouses: Coy and Bessie Callahan, Campbellsville, KY; and Eugene and Linda Callahan, Elkhorn, KY

  • Two sisters and spouses: Margaret and Robert Stultz, and Virginia and Burlin Ewing, all of Sheridan, IN

  • Three grandchildren: Ryan Burton and fiance Heather Bray, Sarah Burton, and Emily Rose Burton

  • Two great grandchildren: Ryan Zackary and Cameron Tyler Burton

  • Several nieces, nephews, other relative and friends
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Harold, David and Mattie Callahan.

Burial will be in Robinson Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
