Obituary: Gerald D. Smith, 75, member Christian Fellowship

Mr. Smith was a native of Alabama. He was a retired masonry contractor and a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Gerald D. Smith, 75, 825 Allen Sparks Road, Columbia, KY, pased away Monday, January 28, 2008, at 12:58pmCT at the Medical Center of Bowling Green in Bowling Green, KY, after a short illness.

The funeral service will be Thursday, January 31, 2008, at 11:30amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Fred Froedge the officiating clergy. Cremation will follow the service.



He was born February 18, 1932, the son of the late Henry Clayton and Inez Kyser Smith of Geneva, AL.He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ruth Laurence Smith, of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Teresa Jane Smith and husband Roger, Breeding, KY, and Angelina Christine Hatfield and husband Roger, Spring Hill, Florida

  • One son: James David Smith, Burkesville, KY

  • Two brothers: Treadwell Eudon Smith, Richland, MO; James Douglas Smith, Slocomb, AL

  • One sister: Lena Denise Bolin, Slocomb, AL

  • Eleven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren
Mr. Smith was a retired masonry contractor, US Army Korean Conflict veteran, and a member of the Christian Fellowship Church in Brooksville, FL.
