Barbara Coomer, 74, Columbia, KY (-2008)

Mrs. Coomer was a member of a prominent, highly respected Columbia family, a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church, a homemaker, and a former cheerleader at Campbellvsville High School

Barbara Coomer, age 74, of 516 West Frazier Ave., Columbia, KY died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 9:35pm at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY, after a short illness. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 2:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, with Rev. David Alexander, Dr. Glenn Sowards & Bro. Randy Johnson the officiating clergy.Interment wiil be in the Columbia Cemetery.



She was the daughter of Bradley Hovious and Jane Gabehart of Taylor Co., a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church, a homemaker and a former cheerleader at Campbellsville High School.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Coomer, of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Susan Willis and her husband Mark, Columbia, KY

  • One son: Steve Coomer and his wife Lou Anne of Columbia, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Joshua Willis, Jordan Willis, Derek Coomer, Paige Coomer,Landon Coomer

  • One brother: Landon Hovious of Louisville, KY

  • One sister in law and her husband: Bea Beard & Harry of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • One special friend: Jerald Copenhaver of Columbia, KY
