Morrison Building at 1114 Jamestown getting facelift Dr. Robbie Morrison had the help of his father, Bobby Morrison, Saturday as the two were remodeling Dr. Morrison's building at 1114 Jamestown ST. The building is getting a new facade to match a building at 1116 Jamestown Street owned by Michael Lee Stephens and occupied by Bryant Realty. The Morrisons were back home from Texas, where Dr. Morrison teaches management and international business at the University of Texas/Pan America at Edinburg, TX. Bobby Morrison now works as a consultant with Carhartt at theirDurango, Durango, Mexico plant. Carhartt has facilities in Kentucky at Glasgow, Hanson, Marrowbone, and Edmonton. Dr. Robbie Morrison earned his Ph.D. a Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN. It will be formally awarded in May of this year. He is a graduate of Adair County High School, Eastern Kentucky University, and has earned three Masters degrees from Moreheard State University. Bobby Morrison is continuing lay missionary work in Texas and Mexico. "I do weekend work with Charity Rescue Missions there," he said. It is a continuation of his interest in mission work. Previously he had several stints with the United Methodist Church mission in Honduras. The building being remodelled at 1114 Jamestown Street was originally built for Harvey & Bryant Building Supplies, operated by Robert and Doris Harvey Bryant. Most recently, it was the home of Janes Appliance, a firm which outgrew the quarters and is now housed in new quarters at the corner of Jamestown Street and Creek Bend Road. The Morrison building is being primarily renovated for to rent, but Morrison said it is for sale, "If the price is right." This story was posted on 2008-01-05 19:01:29
