Adair County Christmas Lights night trips
This afternoon and evening, or any evening between now and Christmas day, know Adair County in Christmas time better trips will be rewarding. Winning Christmas in Columbia 2007 Christmas decoration awards were announced yesterday by Sheila Hare of the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce.

Adair County Road Department maintenance report,Maintenance Schedule, December 14, 2007 (Latest): The Adair County Road Department will be doing shoulder work on the Cooper Ridge Road in District 1, also be prepared to have to wait for a short period while traveling this road. In District 3, the ACRD will be removing three dead trees on the Bloyd Road off the White Oak Road in District 3 today. Please use caution when traveling on this road. Have a Good Weekend. Simon Finn Bridge on Kemp Road Closing: UPDATE: Lewis Garrison, President of Garrison Construction Company, the contractor for the new bridge, said yesterday, Friday, November 30, 2007, that the northside pier should be poured within a week and that the beams will be installed shortly after. He is now hoping for a faster completion than the first of 2008 as previously announced. Everything is a bit ahead of Schedule. In the meantime, The Simon-Finn Bridge will be closed until further notice.For additional information please contact Adair County Judge Meltons Office, (270) 384-4703.

Power out in two areas of Adair County Sunday morning

COLUMBIANS IN TWO PARTS OF TOWN woke up to power outages Sunday morning, December 16, 2007. Above Donnie Rowe, Columbia City Streets Director, is seen walking away after having supervised city work removing fallen limbs from a tree between the two houses on Guardian Street while a KU lineman works overhead restoring power. The other outage was much bigger, and including an area from Longhunters and Rocky Hill around the north side of town all the way to the intersection of KY 61S and Edmonton Road, affecting hundreds of residences. Power there was restored by Taylor RECC workmen by approximately 9:30amCT.
