Virgils Christmas at The Star Theater By Kyle Hadley Special ColumbiaMagazine.com review Lickskillit's lovable country bumpkins return to the Star Theater in "Virgil's Christmas" to the celebrate the season in style. A lot of style. It seems that Harley Wayne and snooty neighbor Pamela Chambers get into a one-upsmanship competition of Christmas decorations. Join the nutty Sludge family in preparation for Christmas dinner. Between getting the Christmas tree up, preparing for a wedding and decorating the barn to beat the neighbors in the annual house decoration contest; throw in a couple of fruit cakes (the kind you eat and the kind you are related to), a bad hairdo, a baby on the way and the mayhem ensues. An all star cast returns with many puns, one-liners, groaners and silly situations will have you rolling in the isles with laughter and have you leaving the theater with a big holiday smile across your face. Finishing the play in pure Star Theater spirit, renowned vocal artist Shawn Samuell from Columbia will be preforming live. "Virgil's Christmas" will play Saturday, December 1; Sunday, December 2; Satuday, December 8 and Sunday December 9, 2007, with Saturday shows beginning at 7:00pmCT and Sunday matinee at 2:00pmCT. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under and can be purchased at the door. The fourth play in the popular "Virgil" series is directed by Mary McGowan. The writer, Kyle Hadley, Columbia, KY, is a secondary education biology major at Lindsey Wilson College and a frequent performer at the Star Theatre This story was posted on 2007-11-27 10:55:24
