Thursday, August 2, 2006: CWC Kindergarten Kick-Off
Col. Wm. Casey Elementary will conduct the 2nd Annual Kindergarten Kick-Off for incoming CWC kindergarteners and their families on Thursday, August 2, 2006 at 5:00pm CT in the school gym. The evening will include introduction of staff, tours of the school, school information, and load of fun on the old football field after the event! Campbellsville University's School of Theology and Church Relations Council will present the January Bible Study Preview of Romans, Thursday, August 2, 2007, from 12:30pm until 8:30pm ET at the Ransdell Chapel on campus. Friday, August 3, 2007: ACHS Indian Football Corn Hole TournamentAdair County Indians Football will be holding a Corn Hole Tournament on Friday, August 3, 2007, at 7:30pm. The tournament will be immediatley following the ACHS Football Blue/White scrimmage. The fee will be $30.00 for each two person team. Plate lunch dinners will be available for purchase during the nights activities, with cooking be provided by Johnny Jones. A dedication of the Wayside Exhibits commemorating the Gradyville Flood of June 7, 2007, and America's most colorful basketball mentor, Coach EdDiddle, a native of Gradyville, KY, will be held, Saturday, August 4, 2007, at 10:00am CT, at D&F Grocery & Deli, 4731 Edmonton Rd, Columbia, KY, Gradyville Community. Featured speakers will be J.W. Monday, August 6,2007: ACHS open house is Monday
Adair County High Schools Open House will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm CT at Adair County High School. All ACHS students and parents are invited to attend. Parents of incoming freshmen are especially encouraged to attend in order to fill out necessary forms. Schedules will be available for all students to pick up at the Open House. Monday, August 6, 2007: ACES Open House
Principal Robbie Harmon announces that the Adair County Elementary School (ACES) Open House will be Monday, August 5, 2007, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm CT. Parents and students can also see homeroom lists for the 2007-2008 school year at ACES. They are posted on the front windows of the school. Monday, August 6, 2007: Open house at JAIS
Open House for all John Adair Intermediate students and parents will be Monday, August 6, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm. Class schedules will not be handed out until August 9, the first day of school. An announcement will be made when homeroom assignments are posted. A supplies list is posted at the school and at local stores.

Monday, August 6, 2007: Daniel Trabue at ACPL
The Adair County Genealogical Society will host a special program, "The Life and Times of Daniel Trabue," on August 6, 2007, at 6:00pm CT, at the Adair County Public Library. Daniel Trabue was a Kentucky Frontiersman, Revolutionary War Soldier, and one of Columbia's Founding Fathers and was a well-known businessman of his time. Tuesday, August 7, 2007: CACIDA meets
The Columbia Adair County Industrial Development Authority (CACIDA) officially meets each first Tuesday at Noon CT in the Chamber Board Room, in the Chamber headquarters at the southeast corner of Fortune and Burkesville Streets. Meetings have whimsically held; call ahead to guarantee group will hold session as announced. By statute, meetings are open to the public. Wednesday, August 8, 2007: All Certified Employes ACSD are to meet at Cranmer
All Certified Employees of the Adair County School District are to report to Cranmer Dining Center on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College on Wednesday morning, August 8, 2007, for Opening Day Activities. Registration and breakfast will be from 7:30-8:15am CT, in the dining center. The program begins at 8:30am CT in the same location. The keynote speaker will be Mr. Jeff Sheppard, the son of a former high school teacher and member of the 1998 national champion University of Kentucky Wildcats who now resides in London, Kentucky. Following the morning program, employees will report to their respective schools for the remainder of the day or follow the instructions given to them by their school principals. This is a regular work day in the school calendar and does not count as professional development. Veterans and their families will be provided counseling and assistance in filing claims for state and federal benefits.This is a free service provided by the state of Kentucky.
