A cat and birthday story: Aunt Clarice White and

By Carol Reeves Shaul

Clarice White and Dennis Reeves both celebrated a shared birthday. Their birthdays are on August 20th, but they celebrated with cake and ice cream and family and friends at Aunt Clarice's house, on Sunday, August 19th.

The people who attended were: Brother and Mrs. Raymond Martin, Donna Karnes, Caroline Feese, Margaret and Addie Mae Hendrickson and Alice, Phyllis Reeves, Mary Coffey, Louis Reeves, Dennis and Renee Reeves, and Carol Shaul.

Aunt Clarice was celebrating her 96th birthday. The celebration went fine, until Aunt Clarice discovered that "Baby", her beloved cat was nowhere to be found. Baby does not go outside - and Aunt Clarice was fearful that in all the confusion, Baby had escaped through the door.

So, panic ensued for a few minutes, while 12 adults all looked high and low for Baby. They finally found Baby - hiding in a perfect spot, away from all the hubbub.

Aunt Clarice and "Baby" both, I am sure, enjoyed a "peaceful lonesome" after all the guests left!!
