Obituary: Helen Thomas, 84

Mrs. Mitchum was a native of Adair County, a Baptist, and had been a caregiver for the elderly

Helen Thomas, 84, 1211 Weller Avenue, Louisville, KY, formerly of the Fairplay Community, passed away at her home in Louisville, KY, on Tuesday, August 7, 2007.

The funeral service will be Friday, August 10, 2007, at 10:00am CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Interment will be in the McClister Cemetery at Fairplay.

She was borne April 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Tobe and Pearl Gadberry Mitchum of Adair County. She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Mitch Harvey, Fairplay, KY

  • Two daughters: Wanda Watson and Elaine Thomas, both of Louisville, KY

  • One sister: Lucille Bardin, Columbia, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Leah Smith, Keirsten Jaggers, Chris Thomas, Brian Thomas, and Adam Thomas

  • Two great grandchildren: Jared Madison and Ayla Watson

  • One nephew and two nieces survive
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Trinity Baptist Temple in Louisville, KY, and was a caregiver for the elderly.

Stotts-Phelps-McQuery Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
