Driver flees scene of Casey accident; passenger extricated

The driver fled the scene of a collision 12 miles east of Liberty, KY, on KY 837, which resulted in injuries to a passenger who had to be extricated, according to a report from KSP Post 15 received at 4:45am CT.

The accident occurred this morning, Sunday, August 5, 2007, at 2:35amET/1:35CT.



Troy Carman, 41, Waynesburg, KY, was traveling north on KY 837 in a 2003 Chevy when he lost control of the vehicle, struck a tree and went over an embankment.

A passenger, Ronald Rowe, 39, was entrapped and had to be extricated. Rowe was transported to the Casey County Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Carman fled the scene. Neither occupant was belted at the time of the collision.

The accident is being investigated by Trooper Jeremy Johnson of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.
