Obituary: Brenda Coomer, 63

Mrs. Coomer was a member of a large, well-known Western Adair County family. She was the head of a large family, and had a 27-year career at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY

Brenda Coomer, 63, 1301 Pittman Street, Columbia, KY, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007, at 1:58pm at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY, after a short illness.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at 11:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster officiating.



She was born May 24, 1944, the daughter of the late Richard Washington and Dora Bradshaw Sneed of Adair County, KY.She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: David Coomer and Barry Coomer, both of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Donna Pickens and husband Tim, Columbia, KY

  • And 12 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two nephews and by a special friend, Dennis Underwood, Columbia, KY
She was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Harvey, in 2006.

Mrs. Coomer was employed by Union Underwear/Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville for 27 years and was a homemaker.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Milltown Church Road off KY West 80, in Gradyville, KY.

The family requests visitation after 3:00pm CT on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY.
