Putman authority describes boundaries of fabled realm

Directs further inquiries to Putman County Mayor, the Honorable Robert Redmon; owns that Jason Harmon is right on Campbells from Tennessee giving area its name
Ed:

As to your question about where the boundaries of Putman are, all I can tell ya is that the center is right smack dab in the middle of Allen Schoolhouse Road.

This is where the old one room schoolhouse was located as well as the old country store that my grandparents, Elmer and Lottie Goodin, once ran many, many years ago.

It is bordered by the McGaha/Grassy Springs community on one side and the Sano/Free Union community on the other.

As to the fine residents that live on each end of the road, I guess it is left up to them whether they consider themselves "Putmanites."

If you have any other questions about Putman you might want to ask our mayor the Honorable Robert Redmon about the history of Putman.

s/Rita Keltner

PS. I think Jason (Harmon) is right about the Campbell families from Putnam, Tennessee, giving this area its name. At least that's what i have always been told.
