Obituary: Mildred Smith, 90, Cane Valley Baptist

Mrs. Smith was a member of a prominent family with deep roots in Cane Valley community

Mildred Smith, age 90, a resident of the Barren County Health Care Center, formerly of the Cane Valley Community in Adair County, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 2:45 A.M. in Glasgow, KY.

The funeral service is Friday, May 25, 2007 at 1:00pm CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Collison the officiating clergy.



She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jake Smithon March 27, 2007.She was born April 13, 1917, the daughter of the late#Benton and Edna Maupin Ferrill of Clinton County, KY.Survived by the following:
  • Charlotte Ramsey and her husband John of Glasgow, KY

  • One sister: Pauline Flowers of Albany, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Greg Hackett and wife Holly, Melanie Murphy & husband Chris, Sara Ramsey, and Laura Beth Ramsey

  • And four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Hackett.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Cane Valley Baptist Church and aHome maker.

Interment in the Haven Hill Cemetery, Liberty Road, Columbia, KY.

The family request visitation after 4:00pm CT, on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.
