Giles Society receives $3,300 grant from Horn Foundation

Organization needs community support to raise matching funds. Funds earmarked for electrical work at the home
By Clara Metzmeier

The Giles Society has received a challenge grant for $3,300 from the Mildred V. Horn Foundation.

The Giles Society is an organization dedicated to preserving Janice Holt and Henry Giles' log home in Knifley, and their works, as well as providing educational opportunities to all.

The challenge is for The Giles Society to raise an additional $3,300 in order to receive the allotted $3,300 from the Horn Foundation. The combined monies are earmarked for installation of electricity in the Giles' log home.

The Giles Society needs help in order to achieve the challenge.

The Giles Home was placed on The National Register of Historic Places in November 1997. The site is a Kentucky treasure. Help us preserve this architectural landmark.

Make your check out to the Giles Society, marked 'challenge grant', and mail it to The Giles Society, PO Box 932, Columbia, KY 42728. Donations are tax deductible because The Giles Society is a nonprofit organization.
