Obituary: Valtie Edel Melson, 71

Valtie Edel Melson, 71, of Bill Turner RD, Columbia, KY, died Sunday, April 29, 2007, at 7:44am at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at 11:00am CT at Grissom Funeral Home with Bro. Claude Davis officiating.



She was a daughter of the late Orbie and Medie Corbin Wheat.Survivors include the following:
  • Her husband: Hershel Melson, Columbia, KY

  • One son: Lee Melson, Columbia, KY

  • Two daughters: Betty Melson, Whitley City, KY, and Linda Walker, Columbia, KY,/li>
  • Two brothers: Sandford Wheat, Columbia, KY; and Paul Wheat, Edinburg, IN

  • Four sisters: Willie Murrell, Jessie Ford, Marie Helm, and ANnie Bennett, all of Columbia, KY

  • And Eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren
Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation wil be after 5pm CT, Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia.
