Richard (Dick) Youngs, Adair County, KY (1928-2007)

August 18, 1928 ~ April 3, 2007 (Age 78)
Mr. Youngs was a retired electrical contractor who had moved to Columbia to be near family. He had served in the National Guard. His wife Joyce Allen Youngs, survives.

Richard "Dick" Youngs, age 78 years, of 415 Young Street, Columbia, KY passed away, Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 6:15pmCT, at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY. after an illness.

The funeral Service is Friday, April 6, 2007, at 11am CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.



He was born August 18, 1928. He was the son of the late: Harry Albert & Julia May Seaman Youngs of Cortland, New York. He died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 78, seven months, and 16 days.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Allen Youngs, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Carol Peasley, Columbia, KY; Diane Wallace of Manchester, KY; and Connie Mooneyhan of Clarksville, TN

  • Two brothers: Herbert Youngs, Niagara, WI: and Harry Youngs, Groton, NY

  • One sister: Joyce Sharpstein, Abelene, TX

  • And two grandchildren: Shawn and Heather Peasley, Columbia, KY
Mr. Youngs was a member of the Columbia Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a retired electrical contractor and had served in the National GuardVisitation will be after 4:00pm CT, on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.

Cremation will follow the service.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family for funeral expenses or may be made at the funeral home.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.
