Obituary, Mrs. Nettie Ann Blair-Ballas, 59, Adair native

Mrs. Nettie Ann Blair-Ballas, 59, a native of Adair County, KY, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007, in her home in Fayetteville, NC, where she had lived for the past 15 years.Mrs. Blair-Ballas was the daughter of the late Cecil Grissom Blair and Stella Hazel Wooldridge Blair of Adair County, KY.

Mrs. Blair-Ballas was a retired middle school teacher and taught for 28 years in J.T. Alton Middle School in Vine Grove, KY.



Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at 10am ET in St. Andrews United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chris Aydlett officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Blair-Ballas is survived by her husband, George C. Ballas of the home and the following:
  • Two sisters: Billie Jean Stecker, Littleton, CO; and Joyce Neal Flatt of Somerset, KY

  • A brother: Luther Edward Blair, Bowling Green, KY

  • And seven nephews, six nieces, eight great-nephews, 12 great-nieces, two great-great-nephews, and a great-great-niece.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Allan Blair, Columbia, KY.

Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, Fayetteville, NC. was in charge of funeral arrangements.
