Bank of Columbia celebrates 140 years of service

A celebration was held last weekend to commemorate 140 years of service to the people of Adair and surrounding counties by the Bank of Columbia. The bank was established in 1866 and today has three locations: The historical downtown bank, the Jamestown Street bank and the Reed Street branch. The special event was held at the Jamestown Street bank where there was room for a tent to cover seating for the crowds both days and also to cover all the good food served up.

Face painting not only for children at the celebration

Alexis Spires' Face Painting creations were an added benefit at the customer service celebration. It proved to be not only for children as several adults and bank employees like Debbie Gist of Gradyville, above, showed.
