Obituaries: Elsie Ray Pelston, 80, resident of Breeding

Her passing is mourned by large family, which includes 38 living descendants

Elsie Ray Pelston, 80, 5524 Greenbriar RD, Breeding, KY, 14, 2006, died September 14, 22006, at 4:46am CT, at the Bowling Green Medical Center.

The funeral service will be Saturday, September 16, 2006, at 10:00am CT, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ronnie Janes officiating. Burial will be in the Breeding Cemetery.



She was a daughter of the late Arnold and Cora Piercy Polston and the widow of Carl Pelston, who preceded her in death April 17, 1970. He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include the following:
  • Four sons: Walter, Larry, Terry, and Ronnie Pelston, all of Columbia, KY

  • Three daughters: Edith Gabehart, Campbellsville, KY; Ruby Bates of Columbus, IN; and Louise Furkins, Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Ruby Lena Wright, Burkesville, KY

  • And 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by four children and one grandchild: Homer and Kenneth Pelston, Sylvia Shirley, Myrtle Wooten, and Melinda Wooten.

Visitation will be after 4:00pm, Friday, September 15, 2006, at Grissom Funeral Home, Columbia, KY.

Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
