Obituary: Rev. Glen Reid Wilson, 68, dies in Indianapolis

Rev. Glen "Tommie" Reid Wilson, 68, North Vernon, IN, died Saturday, September 9, 2006, at Indiana heart Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born on February 1, 1938, in Edmonton, KY, the son of the late Lenus Wilson and Lorene Shirley Wilson of Edmonton, who survives.



He was married to Shirlie Caffee on October 1, 1955, in Greensburg, KY.

Rev. Wilson retired from Jennings County Highway Department in Vernon, IN, after 13 years. Prior to that he worked at Stadler Packing Company in Columbus, IN.

He was a member of the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Indiana.

Besides his mother and wife he is survived by the following:
  • Five sons: Rickie, Steve, Donnie, Timmy, and Jason Wilson, all of North Vernon, IN

  • One daughter: Debbie Wilson

  • Three sisters: Delsie Jessee, Elsie Norris, and Patricia Gaskins, all of Edmonton, KY

  • Three brothers: Cecil and Wayne Wilson, Edmonton, KY; and Pat Wilson, Columbia, KY

  • And 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis and Dave Wilson and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, IN.

Visitation willl be from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, Monday, September 11, in North Vernon, and from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, Tuesday, September 12, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00am, Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at the Wilson Cemetery in Edmonton, KY.
