LWC offers select classes to area HS students and seniors By Duane Bonifer Director of Public Relations, Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson College is once again opening a select number of its classes this semester to the region's high school students and senior citizens. High school seniors can get a head start on their college careers by enrolling in a select number of Lindsey Wilson classes for the reduced price of $180 per class. The three-hour classes count toward college credit, and high school seniors may take up to two classes during the semester. The region's senior citizens can take college classes for free as part of the college's Senior Scholars Program. High school students can enroll in Lindsey Wilson courses in geography, psychology, religion and sociology. Gives high school senior an early start on college "I don't know of a better way for a high school senior to get an early start on college," said Lindsey Wilson Dean of Admissions Traci Pooler. "Most of the classes offered to high school students meet one night a week, so it's a convenient way for them to start earning college credit before they graduate from high school. And at just $180 a class, I don't know of a more affordable way to begin your college career." Classes in communication, geography, political thought, psychology, religion and sociology are offered in the college's Senior Scholars Program. Adults 62 and older can participate in Senior Scholars Adults who are 62 years or older may participate in the Senior Scholars Program. The program allows participants to take one undergraduate class this fall at no tuition expense. Participants in the Senior Scholars Program are not required to have a high school diploma if they audit a class. But Lindsey Wilson admissions requirements must be met if a participant wants to earn academic credit. All students must purchase books and supplies for their classes. Lindsey Wilson's 2006 fall semester begins on Monday, Aug. The following classes are open to area high school students: All class meet on Central time.
