From Bridget Compton
Adair County Deputy Judge Executive, Road Administrative Assistant & Solid Waste Coordinator

I am so pleased to announce I received grant funding for the HHW event again this year.

Adair County residents are invited to drop off household hazardous waste from 8amCT to NoonCT on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Adair County Road Department, 62 Service Rd, Columbia, KY. (Service Road is the next road on the left past Day & Day Feed heading toward Campbellsville on Hwy 55 N).

The vendor will not accept from any business, and the vendor reserves the right to refuse any waste deemed unsafe to handle or unsuitable for the collection.

Items that will be accepted include aerosol cans - all aerosol cans will be accepted, antifreeze - no mixtures will be accepted, batteries (all types) - alkaline, ni-cad, lithium, lead acid, corrosives/flammables (fuel, kerosene, etc.), oil - used motor oil, gasoline, paint, pesticides (2 gallon/2 lbs limit per vehicle), insecticides, propane tank - (20 lbs limit), bulbs - CFL bulbs, 4 ft tubes and 8 ft tubes, pool chemicals, bleach, drain cleaners, fire extinguishers, mercury, roofing tar, driveway sealant, moth balls, household cleaners, floor cleaners, ammonia, metal polish, and vapes.

Items that cannot be accepted include appliances, fertilizers, medications and medical waste, tires, explosives, electronic waste, ammunition, fireworks, smoke detectors, asbestos, and household trash.

Have questions about an item you would like to dispose of? Call your Adair County Solid Waste Coordinator Bridget Compton at 270-384-4703.
