Phillip Coffey - Jimmy Decided to take on the unenviable task of paying a tribute to my first cousin Jimmy Dallas Edwards (October 2, 1946 - August 26, 2026) who just passed. Jimmy lived on the farm adjoining ours to the East when I was first born - his Mother Charity Coffey Edwards was a younger sister to my Dad Elroy. His Dad Dallas Aaron Edwards was an All American Hero who got shot in the hip while Marching through Italy with General George Patton Senior in the biggest of wars. Jimmy and his family never had indoor plumbing, a tractor, a chainsaw and only one Mule that I can recall. The mule stammered And coughed, breaking the “single tree“ With one kick when attempts were made to hook him to a plow. Well the mule run off - going south while The neighbors took up a search party to find where the Beast of Burden might be. He was found about two miles away On Enos Moss farm. Loaded the mule the next Wednesday, to the Edmonton Stockyard he did go. Pocketed the money but no more mule There be on the farm, ’yessiree.’ My Dad was Jimmy’s best buddy who All would agree. Jimmy spent more time with Dad on the multiple farms than I ever did. They were great comfort for each other - confident my whole family Would agree. Now Jimmy is at peace with his family And countless friends in Heaven above For he had many more of both than I could ever imagine for me. This story was posted on 2026-08-28 20:52:45
