Dolly Parton missed especially by our libraries

From the Adair County Public Library

We are so sad to hear about the passing of Dolly Parton. As a library, we are very grateful for the beautiful impact she made on the world of literacy.

There are so many Adair County children that receive free books monthly thanks to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and those books help these kids lay the stepping stones for a love of reading! Thank you, Dolly, for reminding us that kindness is a powerful force, it's ok to dream big, and there is always room for one more book.

Dolly Parton became known as the book lady to many

2026-08-26 - Photo Shared by Adair County Public Library.
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library was created in honor of her father who couldn't read. Because of this gift, hundreds of thousands of children around the world get books given to them. The gifts are given along with the reminder that kindness is a powerful force, it's ok to dream big, and there is always room for one more book.
