Rogers gets top Midwest Truck Nationals honor By Mig Feuser / The Adair Progress Columbia's Ernie Rogers has added another trophy to his collection after earning a top honor at the 2026 Midwest Truck Nationals in Richmond, Indiana. Rogers was named Best Pre-1959 at the sixth annual Midwest Truck Nationals, held July 31 and Aug. 1 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. Organizers recently featured Rogers in their Winner Spotlight, congratulating him for taking home the award. The Midwest Truck Nationals brought together Chevrolet and GMC trucks from a wide range of years for two days of activities. The event was held in conjunction with the 11th annual Square Body Gathering and included a Friday night cruise through Richmond, a swap meet, vendors, food trucks and other activities. Competition took center stage Saturday, with trucks going through drive-through judging during the morning and early afternoon before awards were presented. For Rogers, the latest honor continues a long history of success on the show circuit. More than a decade ago, Rogers earned first place with a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette at an International Show Car Association competition in Louisville. He also placed second in the truck division with a 2007 Ford F650. In another Louisville competition, Rogers received the Best Custom award for his 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. More recently, he captured first place in the Radical Custom Rod Pickup division with a 1937 Ford truck. The Midwest Truck Nationals award adds another major honor for Rogers and once again puts a Columbia name among the winners at a regional automotive show. This story was posted on 2026-08-17 21:05:04
