Chamber invites public to Green River Animal Shelter opening

Ribbon cutting Saturday; shelter volunteers are holding Dirty Dog Wash
By Sue Stivers, Executive Director
Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber is holding a ribbon cutting for the Green River Animal Shelter Saturday, April 22 at 10:30 a.m. with a special open house being hosted afterward by the shelter from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The shelter serves Metcalfe, Russell and Adair Counties and is located at 455 Jim Blair Road across the parkway behind the Adair County Youth Development Center on Hwy. 55 in Columbia.

Please come out and support the shelter, enjoy some refreshments and bring your dirty dog- the shelter volunteers will wash it for a donation!

The shelter provides humane treatment to stray, lost, abused, and unwanted dogs and cats.

They promote humane education, adoption, advocate the importance of spaying/neutering and depend heavily on monetary donations and volunteer support. The shelter is open Tuesday- Saturday, 11 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. For information about pet adoption or to volunteer call 385-9655.

Please come out and support this great new program in Adair County!
