Plant a tree for Earth Day from the Salato Wildlife Center Frankfort, KY - In honor of Earth Day, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort will offer free trees to visitors Saturday, April 22 The first 500 families will receive a 12- to 18-inch white ash sapling. The Center opens at 10 a.m. Ash trees are an excellent source of cover for Kentucky wildlife species and are used in the making of Kentucky's own Louisville Slugger bats.
