Paul B. Helm, 62, Columbia, KY (1963-2026) Paul Byron Helm of Columbia passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green, KY. He was 62 years old. Funeral services will be held at 10:30amCT on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Daniel Nissley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hadley Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3pmCT until 7pmCT, and will continue Saturday until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born in Russell Springs, KY on October 13, 1963, to the late Byron Wayne and Laverne Gaskin Helm. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Carlotta Keltner. Mr. Helm attended the Union Chapel Church and was an adventurous person that lived his life to the fullest. Known for his witty personality, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing the guitar, playing Rook, golfing and fishing. Survivors include his wife Dana Smallwood Helm of Columbia, KY; three children Michael Smallwood (Vanessa) and Wayne Helm both of Columbia, KY and Summer Helm (Steven McCaig) of Colorado; three grandchildren Joshua Smallwood (Brennan), Jordan Smallwood (Fiancee Kaylei Neat) and Mia Martinez; three sisters Kathy Nissley (Daniel) of Columbia, KY, Linda Kelley (Joe) of Campbellsville, KY and Bridget Singleton (Jeff) of Stanford, KY and several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Tony Sneed, Kenny Grider, Kyle Cundiff, Mike Smallwood, Wayne Helm, and Logan Nissley. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
