Donnie Ray Thompson, Sr, 71, Greensburg, KY

Donnie Ray Thompson, SR was born January 24, 1954, in Green County, KY to the late James Amos Thompson and Lela Thornton Thompson. He departed this life Friday, December 5, 2025, having attained the age of seventy-one years, ten months and twelve days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Jacob Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed construction. He retired from Buzick Construction Company in Bardstown, KY. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: Jimmy Thompson, Edwin Pat Thompson, Margaret Sue Tompson and Parita Faye Thompson.

He is survived by two daughters, two sons and one daughter-in-law: Sandra Johnson of Lebanon, Donald Thompson and his wife Kori of Greensburg, Franklin Thompson of Tennessee and April Thompson of Bardstown, one sister and two brothers: Katie Embry of Campbellsville, Udell Thompson of Kewanee, Illinois and James W. Thompson of Corbin, twenty grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, Greensburg, KY, 1pmCT Thursday, December 11, 2025. Visitation from 11 until 1 Thursday. Minister: Rev. David Mitchell.

Burial: Mt. Union Cemetery, Green County, KY

Pallbearers: Latrez Johnson, John Cooper, Michael Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Nate Cubit, Josh Barbour

Honorary Pallbearers: Buzick Construction Company Employees
