REMINDER: ConnectAdair will hold next meeting Tuesday, April 4, 2006
Sage Cutler, Manager, Central Ky Region, ConnectKentucky, has announced that the next meeting of ConnectAdair will be held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Lindsey Wilson College's Cranmer Dining Center.
ConnectAdair is working to improve broadband internet connectivity in Adair County.
"We will be reviewing the status of the projects, and discussing both short and long range plans, along with additional county demographics, case studies and best practices," Mr. Cutler said.
Progress on ConnectAdair can be seen at the ConnectKentucky website. For the Adair County reports, Click here
WI-FI at Lindsey most promising development
Among the most promising new broadband projects is the one announced by Duane Bonifer of Lindsey Wilson College, that WI-FI wireless connections will be available on Lindsey Wilson's campus next fall. Mr. Bonifer said that the college may look in to extending the coverage to downtown Columbia.
Community leaders involved in ConnectAdair County include Mr. Bonifer, Judge Jerry Vaughan, Doug McCammish, Tom Fisher, Carolyn Edwards, and Eric West of Duo-County Telephone Cooperative and Martin Jones, Bowling Green industrial recruiter.
Committees are working in three areas: Awareness and Education, websites for governments and local organizations, and connected community centers.
The meetings are open to the public.
