Marshal Thomas Whatley, 84, Taylor County, KY

Marshal Thomas Whatley of Campbellsville, son of the late James Phinn Alexander Whatley and Ester Belle Shivley Whatley, was born April 6, 1941 in Winn Parish, Louisiana. He died Friday, November 14, 2025 at age 84.

He professed faith in Christ and attended Pitman Valley Baptist Church.


Marshal was a retired Supervisor at GTE. After retirement, Marshal kept himself busy with many hobbies. He enjoyed bee keeping, yard work, many church activities, and helping others in their time of need or project quests. He was also a Baptist Deacon, a member of the Gideons, Kiwanis, Ky. Colonels, and Rotary.

Marshal loved his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He united in marriage to Judy Kaye Pierce, March 26, 1965.

Besides his wife, Judy Whatley of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter and one son: Marsha Kaye Whatley Logan and husband, John IV of Henderson, and Jason Alexander Whatley of Lexington; five grandchildren: Ashton Logan of Oxford, Mississippi, John Whatley V, Ann Logan, Jack Logan all of Henderson, and Casey Baya and husband, Christian of Lexington; three great-grandchildren: Langston Baya, Elliot Baya, and Harrison Baya; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Marshal was also preceded in death by one grandson: Chase Alexander Whatley; two brothers and two sisters: James Whatley, Jerry Whatley, Sylvia Grabert and Nancy Marceaux.

At the request of Marshal and his family, all services will be private. Marshal invites all to meet him in Heaven.
