Arlie Roy, 72, Russell County, KY

Arlie A. Roy, of Russell Springs, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025. He was 72 years of age.

Born July 26, 1953, in Somerset, he was a son of the late Arnold and Lorcie Wilson Roy. Arlie was a farmer for most of his life, raising both beef cattle and running a dairy operation.


He also had his own fencing business for many years. Arlie enjoyed fishing whenever he had an opportunity. He had a knack for working on anything mechanical, and with his willingness to help anyone in need, he often came to the rescue as the "Neighborhood Mechanic." Arlie loved his family and was a good friend to many.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Myrna Gossage Roy, of Russell Springs; a son, Mark Roy, of Covington; and two grandchildren, Aiden Roy and Arcadia Roy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Arlis Roy and Carlie Roy; and two sisters, Nelpha Scales and Bethel Tarter.

Funeral services are 1pmCT Monday, November 17, 2025, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Dustin McGowan officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 10 Monday.

Dean Roy, David Abrell, Jeff Dalton, Ted Cain, Shawn Wilson, and Roberto Castillo will serve as pallbearers.
