Marsel Popplewell, 79, Russell County, KY Marsel Popplewell, age 79, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at his residence. He was born on Sunday, March 24 1946, in Russell Springs, KY, the son of Maudie Johnson Popplewell and Emmitt Popplewell who preceded him in death. Survivors also include: 1 Sister: Katie Hatfield, of Jabez KY 1 Brother: Thurman Popplewell, of Columbus IN In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Nona E. Siler, Margie Roslene Chumbley, Audeen Fox, Vonda Mae Fizer, Ocus, Coy, Dewell, Bruce, Kirby, and Darwin Popplewell. He was retired from the Kentucky State Parks and a veteran of the United States Army. Funeral services will be 1pmCT Monday, November 17 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation will be at 11 Monday.
