Genealogical Society and Center say Thanks for this weekend...

By Mike Watson

The Adair County Genealogical Society and the Adair Genealogy & History Research Center want to thank everyone for all the support this past weekend at Downtown Days and visiting our booth, shared with the Jane Lampton Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

Many of our visitors brought great family and local history stories and much was discussed about our ancestors. I like to say that I learn something new every day, otherwise my day is largely wasted. I learned several things on Saturday, and have several new avenues to research.

Additionally, I came away with a bankers box full of photos, books, and other artifacts picked up along the circuit of vendors. These will be sorted, cataloged and scattered throughout our collections.

October is Archives Month as well as Family History Month, so... Everyone is always invited to come by the Research Center at 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, to research or just visit and look around. Our By 270.380.1024 or adairgenealogy@gmail.com. Or find us on Face Book at Adair County Genealogical Society or Adair County, Cumberland County, Metcalfe County KY History and Genealogy.
