Football: Indians head to Larue Co.

By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer

Adair County Indians football will be back in action on Friday, as they go on the road to face the LaRue County Hawks (2-3). The Hawks come off a 44-18 win over Butler County last week, while the Tribe comes off a one-sided loss to the Glasgow Scotties.

The Hawks have been a run heavy team this season, rushing for 1049 yards and passing for just 568. The Indians will need to hamper LaRue County's ability to run the ball the best they can. The Tribe will specifically look to slow down the Hawks' leading rusher, sophomore Romeo Bartolomei, who has 46 rushes for 401 yards and 5 touchdowns so far this year. Adair County will also need to keep their eye out for another sophomore, Owen McDowell, on the other side of the ball. McDowell leads LaRue County in tackles, with 37, and interceptions, with five.

The Indians have won two straight over the Hawks and have not lost to them since 2018. They will seek to keep that streak alive Friday, so come up to Hodgenville and support your Indians! Kickoff is scheduled for 7pmCT on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Larue Co. High School, 925 S Lincoln Blvd, Hodgenville, KY.
