Charles E. Giles, 90, Columbia, KY (1935-2025)

Charles Edmon Giles of Columbia died on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He was 90 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 11amCT on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Trinity Church, 2418 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Steve Pescosolido officiating. Burial will follow in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is requested on Friday after 4pmCT and on Saturday from 6amCT until 8:30amCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, and after 9amCT on Saturday at Trinity Church.


He was born July 21, 1935, in Adair County. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Van Giles and his mother, Thelma Irene Dixon Hopkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nadine Rich Giles on November 4, 2014.

Charles was a member of Trinity Church, a U.S. Army Veteran and a well-respected successful businessman in Adair County, owning G&G Motors, a farm implement dealership, for 44 years.

Survivors include:
  • His wife - Gayle Garrison of Columbia
  • One son and daughter-in-law - Dr. Chuck and Melissa Giles of Columbia
  • Four grandchildren - Chaz Giles (Samantha), Dr. Van Giles (Karli), Baylor Giles and Clay Giles
  • Four great-grandchildren - Josie Nae Giles, Charlie Freeborn Giles, Kip Stephen Giles and Guy Ellis Giles
  • One brother - Dee Giles of Florida
  • Two sisters - Frances Reynolds of Columbia and Judy Jones of Brownstown, Indiana
  • Also surviving are Gayle's children, Amy Mitchum (Mike) and James Garrison (Paula), her grandchildren, Michael Mitchum (Tiffany), Mary Burton (Levi), Kayla Jones (Trent), Clint Garrison (Savannah), her nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren
  • Several other relatives and friends
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Trinity Church which can be left at the funeral home or the church
