Reminder: Saturday Session on tombstone cleaning By Mike Watson A reminder that the Adair Genealogical Society and the Adair Genealogy & History Research Center of the Adair County Public Library will be hosting our latest Saturday Session of 2025 tomorrow in the old section of the Columbia City Cemetery at NoonCT. This hands-on session will be conducted by Annita Dial. We will be learning the best and safest way to clean and care for old grave markers. Annita will instruct on how to clean as well as educating attendees about the things to never do when dealing with old markers. It will be a hot, summer day, so dress for the weather. We will have a tent under which we will be doing most of the work, but be mindful of the mid-day sun. All supplies will be provided and participants may take part in the actual cleaning of stones, or may simply watch and learn the right way to proceed. The session will begin at noon and end by 2pm. You may park at the cemetery or at the Justice Center parking lot and walk up the drive to the old section of the cemetery.
