James W. Stotts, 71, Columbia, KY (1953-2025)

James William Stotts of Columbia died on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was 71 years old.

The funeral service will be held at NoonCT on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Burial will follow in McClister Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 5pmCT on Wednesday.


He was born September 30, 1953, in Sparksville, Kentucky, to the late Bill and Bonnie Sexton Stotts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dewayne (James) Stotts, three brothers, Johnnie, Frankie and Donald Stotts and three sisters, Faye Catlett, Marsha Fudge and Geneva Janes.

James attended White Oak Community Church, was a retired painter/handyman, worked at Osh Kosh B'Gosh for 15 years, enjoyed playing softball, where he was earned the title of the best homerun hitter and was a Non-Denomination Preacher.

Survivors include:
  • His wife - Anita Gay Dudley Stotts of Columbia
  • Five sons - P.J. Rowe (Rachel) of Columbia, Billy Stotts (Tiffany) of Cadiz, Andrew Stotts (Tiffany) of Russellville, Jesse "Jack" Stotts of Columbia, Luke Stotts (Emma) of Eli,
  • A stepson/grandson - Nathaniel Johnson of Columbia
  • One brother - Larry Stotts (Rosetta) of Columbia
  • 12 grandchildren - Dakota Stotts, Alisha Stotts, Kodie Stotts, Klyn Stotts, Kyler Stotts, Summer Rowe, Mason Rowe, Matthew Stotts, Isaiah Stotts, Ayven Stotts, Ezra Stotts
  • Four step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Casket Bearers: Tommy Phelps, Johnny Morgan, Marvin Morgan, Matthew Stotts, Cory Polk, Zachary Campbell
