SSLOCKY Conference Swim Meet at Holloway Natatorium

By Tyler King

On Saturday, August 2, 2025, the Holloway Health and Wellness Center hosted the Second Annual SSLOCKY Conference Swim Meet. The event was made up of four teams: Blue Raider Aquatic Club (BRAC), Lakewood Marlins, Russell Rays, and Lake Cumberland Swim Club. More than 170 kids showed up and competed in all strokes.

Our BRAC swimmers put in a great fight overall finishing 3rd out of 4. There were many First, Second and Third place finishes by our swimmers in all events. Team spirit was high and even the coaches from each team competed in a relay in which the BRAC coaches A relay took First Place!

Awards were announced once the meet had concluded. BRAC had a lot of shining stars win awards:
  • Russell Curry (10) won the Male High point award for the 9-10 age group
  • Layne Weston (11) won the Male High point award for the 11-12 age group
  • Ellie Staten (13) won the Female High point award for the 13-14 age group
  • Hunter Ballou (13) won the Male High point award for the 13-14 age group.
There was also a 3-way tie for Male Swimmer of the Meet, Jacob Phillips (18) from Russell Rays, Hunter Ballou (13) from BRAC and Layne Weston (11) from BRAC.

This meet concluded the summer league season. BRAC is looking forward to next summer already and hoping to add many more awards to the team!
