Marie Hamilton Taylor, 87, leaves family in Adair and Metcalfe Counties

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home for Marie S. Taylor who passed away early today. She was the daughter of the late Clem and Glemzy Coomer Hamilton of Adair County and the widow of Edward B. Taylor who preceded her in death in 1958. She was a homemaker and a member of the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by:
  • Four sons: Orville Taylor of Versailles, IN., Fred Taylor and his wife Sheila, Edwin Taylor and his wife Carolyn, and Sammy Taylor and his wife Margaret, all of Columbia

  • Three daughters: Rita Partin and her husband Terry of Columbia; Jeanette Rucker and her husband Frank of Louoisville; Glenda Evans and her husband Keith of Versailles, IN

  • Six step-children: Margie Madison, Velma Altmon and Dale Rogers all of Louisville; Ella Rush of Edmonton, Paul Taylor of Hope, IN., and James B. Taylor of Chicago

  • One brother, Estil Hamilton of Edmonton

  • Two sisters: Madge Janes of Chattanooga, TN and Sylvia Romines of Edmonton

  • Eleven Grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one infant daughter Opal Taylor, a step-daughter Nancy Dotson, and two sisters Katherine Pickett and Ruth Pinckney.

Clergy officiating at the Sunday afternoon service will be Bro. Jeff Sparks. Interment will be in the Morris Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation begins after 2 p.m. Saturday.
